Frosty Fences

Frosty mornings are a great time to be out and about.  The air is so clear and we usually have a beautiful blue sky to follow.  As the sun gets up and the frost starts to thaw water droplets line the fences.

It looks so nice with the sun shining through them and the steam rising from the  paddock behind.

Sheepish Shadows

A very pregnant Molly, one of my old pet sheep following me down the hill, hoping to head for greener pastures.

And here she is ... in all her wooliness.

Feeding chickens and friends

Feeding time for the chickens tends to attract the finches and small seed eating birds.  I went out with camera in hand to capture some of them.  Of course there is always that one chicken who has to come and check out what you are doing!

This Yellowhammer and Sparrow have picked a high spot to sit and watch and wait for an opportunity to get in there.

Others, like this Chaffinchm are straight in, ducking and diving around the chickens to get the best bits.

As the chickens drift away its open season and the more timid ones are in to grab the left overs.  I think, like me, they were enjoying the fine winter weather after a long period of rain.

Winter Sunset

After a cold wet windy day, the rain stopped just as the sun started to disappear.

The big heavy clouds still hanging around were transformed until the sun set.  Then the show was over, and with darkness came the rain again.

Animal Friends

It's one year ago that I decided to start a blog and did my first post. I thought I would celebrate with some of the wonderful animals who live with me, or in the paddocks nearby.

Holly

Luke

Toby and Max
Dogs, cats and sheep are great subjects to photograph, they all have their individual personalities.  It's great to watch them grow and see how they all get on together.

Harvey & Kelly and Molly with her lamb

Jemma & Elena

I have enjoyed all the great comments over the last year and have learnt so much about your home towns and occupants.  The blogging world is a very friendly, educational place to spend some time.  Now onwards into year 2!

Bulls and Good Fences

There is nothing more curious than a paddock full of bulls.  I went for a walk with my camera on a nice frosty morning and they all came over to check out what I was up to.

There is always one who has to get as close as possible to see if the camera is edible, or maybe he just wanted to pose.

Luckily for me the fence stopped my camera from being licked and having an unwanted clean!
