Echinacea Flower
Echinacea is a member of the daisy family and is sometimes called the Purple Coneflower. They flower right through the summer months.
I bought this plant last year to see how it went here. It had a few flowers and did OK but this year it is putting a a great show.
The name, Echinacea, was derived from a Greek word meaning 'hedgehog' due to the spiny looking central disk.

Nice images! Another one of my favorite flowers.
ReplyDeleteWonderful blooms in a pretty pink. Their large heads are very attractive.
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty. I have a lot of them in my garden. I like that they come back every year and bloom all summer long. Butterflies like them as well. : ) I'm looking forward to warmer weather.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. You are caring for them well!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite flowers and the tablets are very good at helping you get well again when sickness creeps in...
ReplyDeleteGreat your Echinaceas do so well in your garden, I love them too but they don't survive in my wet garden.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous captures! I love coneflowers.
ReplyDeleteLove the color. It seems like I've seen echinacea extract for sale in the health food isle (or maybe I'm thinking of something else entirely; it is possible!) I always look at those natural remedies when I'm buying my vitamins, but I never do buy any of them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, Jocee!
