An Early Winter Morning

First thing this morning, with a light frost on the ground, the dogs and I headed off on our walk.

The sun was just starting to rise.

Holly is on the lookout for a rabbit breakfast.

Luke is enjoying the sun, and he's always keen on having his photo taken.

The cows are up and grazing. It was so quiet, the birds calling to each other was the only sound.

Back home in the orchard and Toby is waiting for me - or waiting for breakfast!

From my cat Toby:

"It's mid summer here and it's hot, hot, hot.
So i must sleep, sleep, sleep."

In this heat he is an expert sleeper, he doesn't wake up until the end of the day, and then he's off for the night.

Animal Friends

It's one year ago that I decided to start a blog and did my first post. I thought I would celebrate with some of the wonderful animals who live with me, or in the paddocks nearby.

Dogs, cats and sheep are great subjects to photograph, they all have their individual personalities.  It's great to watch them grow and see how they all get on together.

ABC Wednesday - T is for...

Toby the Cat

Toby is my Terrific cat.  We got him 6 years ago from the local SPCA.  His mother had been handed over to them already pregnant.  I like to support this sort of organisation as they do a great job rescuing animals who are treated badly or just unwanted.

Toby knows how to relax and when its hot he sleeps on his back.

He is a great hunter and helps keep the rodents under control.  He loves catching rabbits and comes home with a very full belly and sleeps the day away.
