Bike Fence, Tapawera

We spotted this wonderful fence when we stopped for a coffee at a cafe in a little town called Tapawera, population just over 400.  The town is surrounded by farms and orchards and is in a very pretty part of the top of the South Island.

On closer inspection none of the bikes have their front wheel anymore and are all attached to the back wheel of the bike in front.

A work of art and a great example of recycling at its best and most creative.

  10. In second thuoght, what a concept that would be if an ice cream shop built a real working fence around their outdoor seating....folks could eat tons of ice cream all day long and work it off peddaling to no where! Super genius idea!

  15. This must be very tempting for some to try and climb on. A great fence, I'm gonna have to take a trip up that way just to see it.
