Calf Time

It's calf time on the farm.  I got out today and took a selection of photos to display.

While this one is posing his friend is skipping around in the background.

Finally one who stood still long enough for a close up.  I think she was distracted by the dogs in the next paddock.

This year the Galloway hasn't produced a mini-me.  Instead her calf takes after Dad.

  14. I think babies are sweet no matter what species they are. There are some of the cows like yours in the last photo on a farm north of us but I didn't know what they are. Now I can look up Galloway and understand more about them.
Lovely photos of moms and babes.

  15. Wow that mother is so unique, i hope there will be more like it in the future, it is so different. I remember when my nephew is still maybe 4 yrs old. He saw our horse delivering a baby, and when it was trying to stand with wobbly legs, my nephew cried so much thinking the young born cannot walk properly. I lectured him about it and they after a few hours he believed me, the colt can stand and walk on its own!
