Feeding chickens and friends

Feeding time for the chickens tends to attract the finches and small seed eating birds.  I went out with camera in hand to capture some of them.  Of course there is always that one chicken who has to come and check out what you are doing!

This Yellowhammer and Sparrow have picked a high spot to sit and watch and wait for an opportunity to get in there.

Others, like this Chaffinchm are straight in, ducking and diving around the chickens to get the best bits.

As the chickens drift away its open season and the more timid ones are in to grab the left overs.  I think, like me, they were enjoying the fine winter weather after a long period of rain.
